At this workshop we will be talking about what a guerilla nursery is, why it is important, and hopefully inspire/enable you to start your own. This is also a great way for people in apartments or rental spaces to get involved in water harvesting and collective land back. We will also have some examples of different people’s nurseries around town.

We will specifically cover:

• What the goal of a Guerilla Nursery is
• What types of plants we want to see in our Tucson nurseries
• How to correctly propagate cacti
• How to correctly germinate various seeds
• Basic seed saving skills
• Places to distribute plants that make a difference!

We’ll provide:

• Seed Starting Kits to take home
• Pots to plant things in
• Native seeds to plant, and also to take home
• Cactus cuttings, and onsite pruning tools to get various cactus cuttings
• A potted plant for you to take home
• Gloves
• Drinking Water

Make sure you bring your own:

• Water Bottles
• Gloves if you do have your own
• Examples of guerilla nurseries if you have any!
