Flood Mitigation and Driveway Regrading Workshop

At this workshop we will be changing the grade of a homeowner’s driveway and side yard to stop the flooding that has been happening on their front door. We will also be looking at the backyard and brainstorming how to utilize all the water we are diverting to the best advantage. Ideas, suggestions, and critique are welcomed!
We will have a vegan and gluten free breakfast for everyone who attends, as well as some fruits and snacks throughout the workshop.
We will specifically cover:
- How to use a laser level and a Bunip.
- How to asses landscape grades, and decide how/if grade control can help.
- What is positive drainage, and factors that can inhibit that.
- Passive rainwater harvesting techniques and digging tool technique
- How to use a jackhammer, if applicable (compacted driveway may need this)
We’ll provide:
- Vegan & GF breakfast
- Extra hats & gloves
- Reverse osmosis water
- Tools
Make sure to bring your own:
- Water bottle
- Hat
- Gloves
- Chair if you have one
